A rubber sheet consists of rubber molded into flat sheets of an equal thickness, commonly offered on a roll for handling convenience. Rubber sheets typically range in thickness from 0.02 to 1.6 in (0.5 to 40 mm). The use of the sheet is determined by its thickness and the type of rubber used. Read More…

Types of Rubber Sheets
Natural Rubber Sheet
The raw material for natural rubber sheets is latex, an emulsion that pours from the bark of several plant species and contains between 60 and 80 percent water. A sheet of natural rubber can be compressed well. Additionally, it offers considerable resistance to non-mineral detergent acids and water. They have strong dynamic and rebound qualities, are resistant to tearing, and offer superior mechanical qualities. Natural rubber sheets serve the purpose of anti-vibration pads in packaging.
Nitrile (NBR)
NBR rubber is another name for a sheet of nitrile rubber. It is the most popular and cost-effective elastomer used in the seal business. Its outstanding resistance to petroleum-based lubricants, fuels, water, alcohols, silicone greases, and hydraulic fluids contributes to this. Nitrile can endure negative and positive temperatures from -58 °F to 255.2 °F (-50 to 124 degrees Celsius), giving it a broad temperature range and applications. Low compression set, strong abrasion resistance, and high tensile strength are balanced well in NBR.
Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)
Nitrile rubbers are less resistant to chemicals and oils than hydrogenated nitrile rubber compounds. However, they can resist much higher temperatures. HNBR promises exceptional resistance to fuels, lubricants, numerous chemicals, ozone, and steam. HNBR also has exceptional elongation, abrasion resistance, and rip and tensile strength. In the automobile industry, HNBR is typically utilized for various parts, including hoses, static seals, and belts. Power transformers and most other electric devices employ them because they work wonderfully for corrosion-resistant coatings.
EPDM Rubber Sheet
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monome is an elastomer with a vast range of uses. It consists of rubbers with polymethylene-type saturation chains.
Silicon Rubber Sheets
Silicone rubber sheeting is an extremely flexible and temperature-resistant engineering material often used by the pharmaceutical industry. Silicon rubber sheets resist chemicals, extreme temperatures, and aging brought on by weather and have low permeability. As a result of its exceptional resistance to UV light and weathering, silicone rubber also works well in outdoor applications. Numerous commercial and industrial sectors utilize silicone rubber.
Viton Sheets
Viton sheets are made from fluoroelastomer materials. The remarkable temperature stability offered by this fluoropolymer elastomer and tough synthetic rubber ranges from -4 to 401 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 to 205 °C).
Applications of Rubber Sheets
- Seals, o-rings, glass-run channels, radiators, garden and appliance hoses, tubing, pond liners, washers, belts, solar panel heat collectors, and speaker cone surrounds are all made of rubber sheets.
- In industrial production, rubber sheets are typically utilized as waterproof covers or seals for mechanical purposes. For example, industrial rubber is used for door and joint seals in the car sector. Rubber sheets are utilized in the food and beverage sector as workstation pads and for sealing. In household and gardening, rubber sheets and industrial rubber are often utilized.
- Rubber is a suitable choice for vibration absorbers
- The most common industrial uses for rubber sheets are flooring and roofing. Rubber sheets can sometimes be used to create floors for cars and gyms. Rubber sheets are used in several high-voltage electrically powered manufacturing businesses to insulate floors.
- Rubber strongly resists oxidizing agents, UV radiation, and chemicals like oil and petroleum. Additionally, it can stay flexible in frigid temperatures.
- Rubber is used in shock absorbers due to its flexibility and customized machinery mountings intended to reduce vibration.
- Silicone rubber is used in various hidden applications, including automotive, electronics, home improvement, baking, culinary, food storage products, fashion, undergarments, athletics, and footwear.
- Rubber sheets are used to make the majority of tires in the automotive and aerospace sectors.
- Rubber sheets are used to make various personal protection equipment used in various industries, such as synthetic gloves and rubber shoes.
Benefits of Rubber Sheets
Safety of the Work Surface
Rubber in rubber sheets is particularly practical since, in many situations, it makes an excellent cushion or bump stop. In addition, due to its elastic nature, it can shield numerous work surfaces from harm in industrial settings.
Personnel Safety
Safety is one of the advantages of rubber, as it is safe for both users and personnel. Therefore, it is widely used since it is safe in public places.
Protection of Machines
Rubber is the best material to use for safeguarding machinery. A shock absorber is a rubber. The rubber sheet gaskets prevent liquids and gasses from entering products and keep them contained within vessels or low-temperature mechanical systems.
Anti-vibration
Rubber has a built-in ability to dampen vibrations caused by machines. However, due to their extreme vibrations, these vibrations may eventually wear down devices and be annoying.
Electric and Mechanical Resistance
Rubber is electrically impervious. Additionally, it resists rusting and discoloration.
Rubber Versatility
Rubber sheets are versatile and can be cut into a variety of materials. Pads, washers, and even gaskets are examples of those materials.
Rubber Availability
Materials appropriate for a wide range of settings are readily available. For example, rubber sheets are a good alternative for retail and commercial uses because they are available in various colors. In addition, they can be cut into pads, washers, and gaskets.
Choosing the Proper Rubber Sheet Supplier
